Remake your standups to size using the new 400 dpi files. I will update more on this as soon as I hear from our conference call tomorrow. But for now get ready to tile and print before Wednesday. If any changes occur I will post asap after meeting tomorrow.
NOTES AFTER MEETING
Some of these are going to world expo and some are going to the book fair in geneva. Long story short it looks like we will be doing close to four standups for the UN. Whohoo! Christen - we are going to go with yours for the book fair. Water scene with the boat, forrest scene with the chair and mirror, and another scene yet to design for africa will all be for the expo with no characters in it. We will be using the individual standups for that one. Looks like we will use only the characters on the individual ones - Little Red, Caden (little boy) - file coming, Elephant (see Kayli for illustration on this one), Misqueto and the Rat for the individual files. The backgrounds will be also dpi large file they are going to send us.
Cardboard dude to get those has been no where to be found so we are probably going to wait to tile these and assemble until Friday. Please print and number them off so we have the files ready to go just need to put them together.
RESUME & COVER LETTER
2nd draft of each will be due in class on Wednesday to look over and finesse. More you have the more you can edit before the final is due on Friday.
FRIDAY CLASS
Will be a solid work day on the standups. Tiling and putting them together. We will take measurements and make sure they are sturdy to get our quote on the pricing for them.

Please dress in business casual. You need to have your files in your frame. Make sure both sides of the object are visible. Please place a bit of tape behind them to make sure that they are secure in the frame. You will be discussing the job in the frame like you are pitching to a client. Make sure that you are prepared for logistical questions. Finals should be all printed and cut to size. Make sure that your business cards are printed on card stock and no less weight than 90 lb.

You need to have three pages of thumbnails per item of your business stationary package. You will need to have business cards, letterhead, envelope (3 pages an item / divided in the thumbnail so can show front and back). Please have these in your job folder. Start a visual brief and print it off so you can get ideas before you start thumb nailing.

No need to dress up for this one. No summary needed. We will spend the rest of the day after critique covering branding boards and how to make them.

Choose your 10 businesses that you would like to remake their logo. No churches, dentist, chiropractic or photographers all to hard to separate from imagery to create new identity. Print off three pages on each business.

Go for a walk / a errand - take photos of every brand that you see. Recreate the brands in illustrator into a crest. Identify the brands out to the right hand corner of the piece in gill sans 11 pt. (single spaced). Center the final crest. Limit the color scheme to create a unified whole. Please bring your crest for the "modern commercial man" to class. Printed in color on 8.5x11.
Make sure to save your office olympic pictograms to your computer. We will hit the definitions of branding hard on Monday. Please be sure to have your ideas for businesses to redesign starting next week.
